Yes, okay, fine, if thinking a sexist show that has a trailer full of sexist bullshit and sexist implications and sexist writing is being “pressed” just because I am also a fan of the BBC’s Sherlock, then I am kind of proud of being “pressed.”

I’m embarrassed by people who act like this. And by people who act like Elementary is going to be some wonderful show despite even their trailer being chock full o’ sexism nobody seems willing to talk seriously about.

P.S. Oh yeah, also it’s a fucking glaring rip-off of an existing show which also makes it shit. But really that’s among the least of my objections to this crap.

Sssssssoooooo basically America is getting another crime drama detective show with a dude and a hot chick as the two main leads. They will inevitably have a romantic entanglement, and knowing how American television shows have a tendency to go, the Watson character, being female, will likely get into a ton of trouble and need to be rescued

I will be genuinely surprised if this is not the same exact thing they’ve been pushing down our throats for years now but with a new coat of paint.

Because the only thing we can make in this country are either CRIME DRAMAS WITH SEXY CHIX or SITCOMS.

 This is just SO MUCH BULLSHIT.

It’s basically going to be Law & Order: Criminal Intent 2.0 and we all fucking know it. (God, that was the most obnoxious show ever.) A super-analytical ~rude and hyper-masculine looking male detective and his sexy female sidekick who does nothing but need rescuing and lust after her partner — gee, that sounds awfully familiar.

This is worse than what SyFy did to their remake of Being Human, and coming from me that’s saying a lot.

BTW, iirc, isn’t the whole “Elementary, my dear Watson” thing.. not actually in the stories? Where did I read that? Cos if I’m right then the whole thing is basically divorced from the stories completely.

Finally, did everyone hear that apparently they’ve changed the names to “Brit Holmes” and “Joan Watson”? Or so my girlfriend has told me. I.. Brit Holmes. It just makes me crack up against my will.

Tom is like, the cutest ever, and I love Hal already. It’s not enough to make up for the fact that Mitchell and George aren’t there, but we like to pretend they’re off on honeymoon together somewhere and not actually dead. It feeds the fun AUs better.
